Free audio extension for Chrome
Volume Booster is a free-to-use tool designed by the Sound Busters team for Google Chrome. This Chrome extension, as the name suggests, makes your internet browser audio a lot louder. Regardless of your speakers, headsets, or audio devices installed, this add-on lets you listen or stream with volume levels beyond what your device usually delivers.
Like most extensions, Volume Booster comes in a very small file size and is easy to install onto your browser. Conversely, it’s only currently available for Chrome and does not alter your device volume beyond the browser. You can also check Audio Equalizer - EQ.
Surf the net a lot louder
Volume Booster is simple and straightforward to use. You can get it from the Chrome Web Store and get it installed. Once it’s added, you will find a small icon on your browser. Clicking on this unusual speaker button will show a separate slider that lets you control the volume. Take note that it is different from your device volume.
Since the app is native to Chrome, there are no restrictions on the device. It works on any platform where the Google internet browser does. In terms of power, it can boost your audio by up to 10 times. It is also worth noting that this works on individual tabs in your browser. The developers strongly recommend turning off the extension before moving to a different tab.
Also, as mentioned, it doesn’t work beyond Chrome. Also, while it supports any device, shifting to a headset or earphone and moving the slider beyond the 25% level would result in a crackling noise. Similarly, there are a couple of issues with using the extension. For example, the extension gets disabled at times when you shift to a fullscreen display, although it can be resolved by restarting fullscreen mode.
Tap your device's potential
Whether the source video has an inherently low volume or your default audio output remains unoptimized, you can easily tap into the highest volume levels available with the Volume Booster extension. It comes with its own extension icon that lets you switch the volume up, although take note that it only works on one tab at a time. Despite its minor glitches, it’s a great add-on for streamers.
